There’s Something for Almost Everyone in the Weeks Ahead

As Cindy Workman said during her announcements the other day, “It look’s like there ‘s a lot going on around here.” There are a lot of things that are about to happen of which we need to take note.

First of all, Teen Challenge will be leading us in worship on Sunday Oct. 7th. We’ll be having a fellowship luncheon following the service. Everyone needs to bring a some extra food.

The next week the United Methodist Women will be planning and leading the worship service. Their special speaker for that day will be A/Captain Betty Lester of the Salvation Army.

On Sunday night the 14th, you’ll have a chance to learn some effective ways to relate to persons living with cancer. This two hour workshop needs to have advance registration in order to have the right amount of materials on hand.

We’ll also be having our second Wonderful Wednesday Dinner on Oct. 17th at 6:00 p.m. We had about 45-50 at our first dinner and hope to have even more at this one.

Although plans aren’t yet final, we’ll also be having some sort of Halloween Party for the children. Check back for more detailes.

As we move into November, we will celebrate Consecration Sunday on November 11th with the Reverend Dr. Tom Conley preaching for us on that day. Following the service we will have a catered meal in the fellowship hall to celebrate.

Of course the things mentioned above, don’t include the regularly offered items like United Methodist Youth on Wednesday nights or our Sunday School Classes each Sunday for all age groups. In addition, we’re starting up classes on Wednesday night from 6:00-6:50 p.m. for kids K-2 and 3rd – 5th grade.

All in all, there’s a little bit of something for everyone. I hope you will take the opportunity to consider participating in as many of these activities and events as possible.
